The GristWidget 12000.
The GristWidget 12000 is a non-essential yet very useful part of life in the Medium. It functions as a way to decompose items into their grist equivalents, making it easier to find rare types of grist, or just to get rid of useless items.
Alchemization[]
To create the GristWidget, you first have to create a Wooden Spoon, then use that to make a Silver Spoon, Then create the Junior Battlemaster's Bowlbusting Stirring Solution 50000, and finally alchemize the JBBSS 50000 with a Captchalogue Card using || Alchemy to create the GristWidget.

Using the GristWidget requires significantly less effort in the Pre-1.8 versions of the mod. In the 1.6 and 1.7 versions, the player simply has to place the item they wish to turn into grist into the GristWidget, and hit go. In the 1.8 versions of the mod however, the player must first Captchalogue an item, then right click the item in the Sylladex to receive the Captchalogued item. They must then place the card with the item into the GristWidget and hit go, using up both the item and the Captchalogue Card. In recent versions of Minestuck, using the GristWidget will cost boondollars to use. The amount of boondollars cost depends on the item and quantity of it you place inside the GristWidget. In all versions, the GristWidget will shoot the Grist directly into the overworld as if the player had just killed an enemy. The player can then collect the Grist.

In the Comic[]
In the comic, the GristWidget is owned by Jane Crocker, who received it due to her status as heiress to CrockerCorp. It is used to turn an Obelisk into Grist in her planet, the Land of Crypts and Helium.
