Minestuck Wiki

Edit Mode is a mechanic in Minestuck that allows the Server Player to edit the Client Player's house in any way they see fit.

In Edit Mode, the Server Player is invisible and able to fly akin to Creative Mode in Vanilla. They remain two blocks tall, and they're are unable to go through doors. They can place blocks and machines and break walls as long as the Client Player has the grist needed to create or destroy it. Blocks cannot be grabbed from anything akin to a creative inventory. Instead, you must use your Pick Block (middle mouse button by default) on a preexisting block to get it in your Edit Mode inventory. Upon the Server Player's first connection to the Client Player, they have access to one free placing of:

If someone breaks a machine, you can place them again for free after a day in Minecraft has passed.

You can also drop certain items on the ground in edit mode, something that is extremely useful for entering the Medium as you can drop a Punched Card of Cruxite Artifacts. Also note that you can place down a Punch Designix, once your Client Player has obtained 4 Shale Grist.
